A Rose, Eternal
. . .
Though we be wild as seas
In darkest nights
We be gentle in our plight
Dancers delicate across the bounds of time
To trifle, trick and trace and sigh
To move and stir emotions highs
To linger, drink and drain and dry
To Savour, devour, deliver and cry
Envelope, enrich our entangled eyes
And in innocence wake
In curtails bright
Wrapped in spirals and intertwined they sigh
Florets, petals unbound, unbroke they’re nigh
Shedding like tears before their eyes
For what beauty bares upon their inner beasts
Searching in the dark for what light they breathe
Enclose, encroach upon that inner tide
Ancestors call; you’re running out of time
On the edge of safety in enclosing arms
A waxing love blooming in the dark
. . .
