The Lyre & The Serpent
Over 30 Hours - this piece depicts the Australian Lyrebird and the Red Belly Black Snake 🐍 ~ in all their mystical magic.
These two came together in visions in the last little while and begged to come fourth.
So with a careful hand and many hours they emerged- bringing fourth the quintessential colours of the Australian Bushland, her trees, her mountains and her rocks.
The Lyre speaks the sounds of any and all creatures,
It’s call a perfect mimic - and it’s tail feathers the perfect Lyre - connecting it in symbols with the constellation Lyra.
The Red belly, quiet and often unnoticed, a bold protector of it’s kin and it’s eggs- rests at the feet of the Lyre in this piece, protecting it and forging the path ahead - if you were to look at the base of the constellation of Lyra in the night sky you would see the constellation of Draco, the skies serpent. The great Snake rests at the base of the Lyre and so - as above, so below
